Pictures of the Princess Mononoke photo shoot I had last summer.
This was so much fun! I worked together with 3 wonderful white shepherd dogs and lovely Kitty from Kitakichan!
Kitty crafted her San cosplay all by herself! Be sure to check her out.
The organization was a bit difficult, but as soon as we had the commitment of the dog owners, we fixed a date and went on to this spectacular photo shoot in the woods.
I already had some concepts in my mind, but I never worked with so many dogs at the same time. This was quite challenging for me as well.
As we arrived it was so great to see how the location and everything else fit so well together. It was in the middle of a peaceful place in Austria, where nature still could be nature.
The dogs calmed down and even relaxed in the small river! It was simply amazing. At that point I knew, that this photo shoot will be a great success.
Well, unfortunately we got surprised by a thunderstorm. It got dangerous for all of us. We had to be very quick, to take this shot. The thunder was so loud, that it wasn’t easy for the others to understand what I wanted to achieve. But in the end, it worked out!
After this shot was taken, we ran for the cars. My assistants and I quickly took all the equipment, so it won’t get destroyed by the heavy rain. In a few seconds we were all wet, as if we had taken a bath. It was so crazy! Especially for me, because I’m really afraid of thunderstorms. But it was worth it and I was so relieved when we got into the car.
After the rain had stopped, we took one last picture. The light and location were so beautiful. Everything looked so fresh, it was lovely. So I just had to take one more picture, even though we were all shivering quite a bit, because of the rain.
This Princess Mononoke photo shoot was one of my favorite shootings so far.
I hope you enjoyed the finished pictures!!
Here are some behind the scenes pictures, so you can see that the dogs and everything else was real.
